Luke Porter has run his own production company since 2011 and has worked as a brand's marketing manager, from the shoot and the design to the ads and the social feed. He also builds the software that takes repetitive work off a team.
From a brief to a concept, a plan the team can shoot, and a finished piece that matches what was pitched.

III — Systems
Automation that runs real work
For an international shipping operation, Luke built the software that takes a shipment from the warehouse's email to finished, filed paperwork. Every screen below uses sample data.

The shipping suite, end to end
Every international shipment was dozens of manual steps: save the pack slip, work out country and mode, rebuild it in Excel, pull reports, build the documents, file the paperwork, write the emails.
Small cooperating tools now hand off through crash-safe files and queues, so any piece restarts without losing work. The easy-to-forget steps happen the same way every time.

VBA · Excel
Macros built for people and programs
Roughly a thousand VBA procedures do the real work inside each step: weights, pricing, descriptions, invoices, print layouts. Many run two ways, by hand from a button or silently from Python, with a summary and a log.
Paths live in one configuration module, and a run that changed the master workbook can be rolled back.

SQLite · Dashboard
One answer to “where is this shipment?”
Status lived in inboxes, folders and a dozen spreadsheets that disagreed. Every tool now writes events into one SQLite ledger, and read-only observers rebuild state from what is actually on disk, so it stays right when something was done by hand.
A live board and a read-only dashboard sit on top. The rules are pure functions, covered by 330 tests.

Tools people use every day
Small Windows tools for the people doing the work: a hotkey assistant that builds ready-to-review Outlook drafts, an indexed search that finds a shipment across years of folders, a fuzzy part lookup in the tray.
They report through toasts with action buttons, so a person only sees what needs them.

Built to fail safely: every step restarts without losing work, every run ends with a log and a report, and people spend their time only on the calls that need judgement.
